The presence of preservatives in personal care products and cosmetics forms to be the second most major cause of different skin reactions. Preservations are generally used to prevent bacterial and fungus growth which can create skin reactions too. It is very important to protect your products from light damage and oxygen. Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Quaternium-15, imidazolidinyl urea, Phenol carbolic acid, paraben, DMDM hydantoin, Benzoic Acid, sodium benzoate, lauryl sulfate (SLS), Sodium laurel, Are para-hydroxybenzoic acid esters, formaldehyde and phenoxyethanol are some usual preservatives used in cosmetics.

There are other ingredients normally used in cosmetics that are toxic and can affect your body. These include synthetic polymers like Methylacrylate polymer, Butylaminoethyl, Acrylate and Acrylamide used in nail lacquers, body lotions and shampoos as well. Even hydrocarbons like paraffin and mineral oil can also lead to different skin issues. These ingredients disrupt the growth of natural skin causing pre mature skin aging.

It is recommended to buy more of natural skin care products that include ingredients like coconut oil, palm oil, olive oil, aloe vera, herbs, yucca root, balsam tolu, myrrh, shea butter, jojoba oil and others.
