The statistics is that more then half of adults never examine their skin, but checking once in awhile can be lifesaving. A proper skin cancer exam can take about 15 minutes and should be done on a monthly basis. When you examine your skin you are looking for anything that might not seem normal to you. If you find a change that is not a normal part of your skin, spend some time looking and feeling the skin. Notice where you might have moles or birthmarks along with color and shapes sizes. Each month look for any changes growths or rough skin. Other skin signs are waxy looking patches and sores or scabs. If you find any crusting or oozing bleeding and have not healed with in about a week or two then pay attention to these conditions.
If you take the time to check and be aware of your skin condition you can prevent further development if you get treated promptly. The importance of being aware can prevent many forms of skin conditions. You can treat most type of conditions if detected early, remember this and you will prevent from further development if there is a skin problem.
